Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Mathematics teacher who can help our students aim higher, achieve and enjoy the subject as much as possible. Appointed to the trust in the first instance, there are opportunities across our secondary academies including Shelley College, Thornhill Community Academy, Whitcliffe Mount School and Royds Hall Academy.

All our Mathematics teams are thriving with experienced, hardworking and dedicated teachers who share best practice and resources so that every student across the trust can access the very best learning opportunities. 

For trainee teachers, we offer support second to none, with a dedicated mentor, reduced teaching timetable and Early Careers Framework (ECT) training from the Teaching School Hub. For established teachers considering middle leadership, we offer a fast-track training programme with a guaranteed interview opportunity for a middle leadership position within the trust as it arises.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be educated to degree level with (or working towards) QTS and display a natural passion for Mathematics;
  • be able to impart knowledge to young people to engage and excite them in their learning;
  • be able to develop, plan and deliver effective and consistently good lessons;
  • love encouraging, motivating and inspiring young people through the support they give in order to encourage their learning;
  • have great references demonstrating they are a suitable candidate, safe to work with children.

We are extremely pleased to have the Calderdale and Kirklees Teaching School Hub based at Shelley College, delivering teacher training (ITT), the Early Career Framework (ECF) and the National Professional Qualifications.

We offer the opportunity of a career development programme that could take teachers on a journey from trainee to senior leader and beyond.

Location

We are in located in the Huddersfield/Kirklees district, with many of our schools in close proximity to a number of towns and cities including Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield. Due to the excellent road links, journey times are minimal, with many of our staff travelling from these areas on a daily basis.

Recruitment process
