Spalding High School is an 11-18 grammar school for girls with a co-educational sixth form. There are currently 958 on roll with 217 in the sixth form. Pupils come from throughout South Holland as well as from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Peterborough. There are 67 teaching staff and 40 non-teaching staff.

The School boasts a very pleasant site, opened in 1959, and enjoys good facilities. We are proud of our happy, caring, purposeful and well disciplined environment.

Our academic results are very pleasing; every year we are one of the highest performing schools in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands at both GCSE and A Level.

In September 2003 we became a specialist Sports College which has enabled us to enhance our sports’ facilities and curriculum. In 2004 we opened a Performing Arts block comprising two music rooms and a large drama studio and are pleased that only last week we were recommended for Gold Standard Arts Mark. In 2005, we opened the Millennium Block comprising a geography block and Careers’ Centre, and in 2010 our sports hall was doubled in size and we opened our multigym, one of the best in South Holland, to the public. (School staff have free use of the facilities). In 2012, we opened a new sixth form centre. We are committed to developing the ‘whole person’; sport, music, drama and other extra-curricular activities are all positively encouraged.

We have a large number of support staff who cover many duties and responsibilities. When the need arises, team members support each other. Administration and Finance offices are extremely busy areas involving considerable contact with staff, students, parents, other school visitors and outside agencies.

With the substantial number of visitors to School, the safety of staff and students is paramount and, consequently, security awareness is a constant feature. The School takes the safety of its members very seriously, and all appointments are subject to enhanced DBS clearance.

Spalding High School is an extremely happy and successful place to work; thank you for your interest in joining our team.

For further information about the school, or for an informal visit, please contact the Headmistress’ PA, Mrs Jayne Knight
