Teacher of Mathematics

King Alfred's AcademyOxfordshire

Teacher of Mathematics - Permanent - full time post

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resourceful and committed Teacher of Mathematics. You will be joining our highly successful Maths Faculty which is based on a redeveloped site following an impressive investment programme across the Academy. We have strong leadership within a supportive faculty and would welcome applications from both NQTs and experienced teachers.

The successful applicant will be committed to securing the best outcomes for all students within the Academy, as well as being part of wider curriculum offered to all students. We are looking for someone to inspire our students and promote a love for this subject both in and out of the classroom. Maths is a very popular subject at both GCSE and A-Level.

King Alfred’s is one of the largest secondary schools in Oxfordshire with a strong academic history, combining ancient listed buildings with recent capital investment totalling £17 million. The Academy has recently been reorganised from three sites to two sites; this has enabled very significant investment in the two remaining sites. Facilities for students and staff are excellent and include:  new purpose-built teaching rooms for Faculties, a new Dining Hall, improved leisure and social facilities such as a new sports hall and redevelopment of our Sixth Form Centre.

King Alfred’s is in the heart of the local community and has very strong links across many partners in the locality, and particularly with the primary and secondary schools with which we jointly form the Vale Academy Trust (VAT).  We continually seek to improve the educational experience for students and reflect upon the responsibility we have as a local employer. At King Alfred’s we are passionate about learning both within and beyond the classroom; enrichment of educational experience is central to our ethos. We are committed to teacher training, the CPD and career development of our staff.
