Teacher of Mathematics

We seek a charismatic communicator to teach in our small maths department, to inspire our children with the beauty of mathematics, and help all of them to gain satisfaction from appropriate mathematical achievements. Our subject specialists usually teach a range of ages from Year 6 through to Year 13.  It is desirable, but not essential, that the successful candidate can teach Further Maths. All of our teachers are expected to contribute enthusiastically to the wider life of the school by supporting the running of maths clinics and clubs.   We take part in the UKMT maths challenges and run a Primary Maths Competition for Year 6 students from local state schools. 

Our Sixth Form teaching is scheduled between 10 am and 5.30 pm to suit the circadian rhythm of adolescents in their late teens. Class sizes at A level are very small and our students are of a high calibre looking towards Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities.

We are looking for well-qualified mathematicians, who will be able to inspire our pupils and help to promote the high cultural and academic ethos of the school. Applications are equally welcome from teachers with some years’ experience and from new entrants to the profession.

An immediate starter would be preferred so you can undertake training, however, we will welcome applications for an Easter 2023 start date.
