Job overview

Owing to an expected increase in student numbers, Siddal Moor is seeking a Teacher of Mathematics, with effect from 1st September 2019.

We have a strong and talented team in Maths and it goes without saying that this is a core subject in school.  We are therefore attaching a Recruitment and Retention payment of £1,500.00 to this post, initially, for the first 12 months.

We are looking to recruit an individual who shares our vision of achieving excellent learning outcomes for students and who will assist in raising the standards of teaching and learning in Maths even further.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an excellent classroom practitioner, preparing and delivering lessons to students across the whole age and ability range

• Have the highest expectations for student learning

• If an experienced Teacher, you will also have a record of successful Key Stage 4 outcomes

This is an exciting time to join us as we continue our school improvement journey and build upon the strengths identified by Ofsted in their recent monitoring visit.

We are currently involved in a close partnership with Hollingworth Academy, (an outstanding, local secondary school), and are working hard to make sure each and every one of our students makes the progress they are capable of.  Siddal Moor is a school with excellent facilities and a hard-working and supportive staff team.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring and background check.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

To apply for this post, please download an application form and the supporting documents.  Completed application forms should be returned to ThompsonL@siddalmoor.uk.  This post closes at 4pm on Tuesday 21st May 2019 with interviews being held on Thursday 23rd May 2019.

Ofsted report

“Students say they feel safe and are well supervised in school. Parents and staff agree that students are well cared for. Recently appointed senior leaders are now improving teaching and assessment effectively. The school's assessment of students' progress is now accurate. The checking of students' progress over time is clearly presented so all staff can now see clearly whether students are achieving sufficiently well. The majority of students behave well in and around the school. Students' behaviour has improved over time and they get on well with each other and with adults.”
