Do you feel a sense of accomplishment when a student identifies the interconnections between quadratic inequalities, the Quadratic Formula and transformations of functions?

Do you live for that ‘light bulb’ moment when a student, through your support and tutelage, finally overcomes an intellectual obstacle and achieves success?

Are you passionate and enthusiastic about inspiring the learning and unlocking the potential of all our young people, particularly our most vulnerable and disadvantaged?

If this applies to you, we can’t wait to meet you and for you to join our team. The strength of our Maths Faculty at Biddick Academy lies within our environment of collegiate collaboration and mutual support where you will be encouraged to share best practice and contribute to both the professional development of yourself and your colleagues within the team. If you join our team, you will be provided with every opportunity possible to develop professionally, take on additional responsibility and further your career, taking it to new and unparalleled heights.  For example, our Leader of Maths has been both an ITT student and NQT within the Academy before moving to a leadership role.

Biddick Academy is a thriving, oversubscribed secondary school conveniently located 10 minutes’ drive from Newcastle and Durham. We are passionate about education and believe that all students can and should achieve their full potential. Our extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities motivate students to aim high. The Academy enjoys an excellent reputation within the local community and has a strong and distinctive ethos of being a safe place where we continually strive to inspire learning, unlock potential and achieve success for every student.

We actively welcome visits and would be delighted to show you around our Academy to meet the team (the Mathletes) and fully appreciate our excellent learning environment and facilities.
