Sydenham School is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and creative teacher of Mathematics to join our high-performing Mathematics Faculty.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in the classroom and must be able to demonstrate the drive and interpersonal skills required to inspire and motivate students.  

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large and forward thinking Faculty team whose practice has led to year on year improving outcomes for students above the national average at GCSE and A Level.  

Sydenham School is an 11-16 girls’ school with a mixed sixth form, popular and well regarded in the local community, with a fully comprehensive intake. The school achieved a Progress8 score that is significantly above the national average in both 2016 & 2017, is in the top 25% of schools nationally for attainment and progress at GCSE, and the top 25% of schools for A-Levels (ALPS3).   

We have high ambitions for our students and are proud to be able to engage our students to progress to success in higher education and the vocational sector. You will be committed to supporting students to be independent learners and able to take responsibility for their learning. There will be the opportunity to teach across the age and ability range from Year 7 up to and including A level.

We partner with Forest Hill Boys’ School to operate SFH6 - the Sydenham and Forest Hill Sixth Form. This provides a wide range of opportunities and progression routes for students. This year 89% of our Sixth Form students went on to University, with over 70% progressing to the top research intensive universities including Oxford, Cambridge and the Russell Group. 100% went on to either University, training apprenticeships or employment.
