This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, passionate Teacher of Mathematics (experienced or a NQT) to join a forward-thinking and innovative team in this ambitious 11-18 Academy. 

About the school:

Ortu Gable Hall is a large mixed academy on the Thurrock/Basildon border. It is part of the Ortu Trust, which is made up of Ortu Corringham Primary School, Ortu Gable Hall School and the Ortu Stanford and Corringham Sixth Form Centre. Teaching opportunities are available from KS1 to KS5 across the Trust.

Our challenge is to maximise our pupil’s progress. Even with headline figures significantly above national, we recognise that we still have gains to be made. G.C.S.E results for 2019 show English Grade 9-4 at 68%, grade 5+ at 51%.   Maths results show 60% at 4+ and 38% at 5+

AIMS, CULTURES & ETHOS

The staff and Governors of Gable Hall have produced a statement of aims and objectives which will be realised through the curriculum, organisation and ethos of the School. The curriculum, which is broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated, has been designed within the framework of the National Curriculum to meet the needs of individual pupils.

Specifically we aim:

to give pupils the experience of school as a caring, supportive community where life is enjoyable and where there is equal provision regardless of sex, race or culture.
