Job overview

Mossbourne Federation is the realisation of Sir Clive Bourne’s dream to provide the children of Hackney with an outstanding education. Built on a formula of high expectations, doing the simple things right, and the belief that all children can succeed, Mossbourne offers an environment where all learners, regardless of ability, benefit from innovative and enlightened approaches to teaching and learning. Our calm working atmosphere creates well-rounded individuals who excel in the arts, on the sporting field, and academically.

In 2025, our 20th anniversary year, we are delighted to have expanded to include three Thurrock schools in our Federation. We now consist of seven academies:

  • Mossbourne Community Academy (MCA) secondary and sixth form, Hackney
  • Mossbourne Fobbing Academy (MFA) secondary and sixth form, Thurrock
  • Mossbourne Herd Lane Academy (MHA) primary, Thurrock
  • Mossbourne Parkside Academy (MPA) primary, Hackney
  • Mossbourne Port Side Academy (MPSA) secondary, Thurrock
  • Mossbourne Riverside Academy (MRA) primary, Hackney
  • Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy (MVPA) secondary, Hackney

The Role:

Mossbourne Fobbing Academy is seeking an outstanding Key Stage Coordinator for the Mathematics department. We are looking for someone who considers themselves a ‘team player’, loves Mathematics and most importantly loves sharing that passion for Mathematics with other people. The right candidate will have a growth mindset and be looking to continually develop as a practitioner. The role will involve curriculum development, staff training and student data management. We welcome applications from established Mathematics teachers with experience in the classroom and who are looking for their first position of responsibility within a department. The successful applicant will be supported to become an outstanding middle leader. They will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), have a proven track record of successful Mathematics teaching across different key stages and believe that all students can succeed in these courses. There are opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 for candidates with the appropriate experience.

About You:

We are seeking an outstanding Mathematics teacher who is ready to step up and lead a Key Stage within the Mathematics department. You will be a ‘team player’, love Mathematics and, most importantly, love sharing that passion for Mathematics with other people.

We are actively seeking to increase the proportion of our workforce who come from diverse backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from people of Black, Asian, and other minority ethnic descent. Injustice, discrimination, and intolerance go against the core tenets of the Mossbourne ethos. We actively reject discrimination in our academies through continuous review of our working policies and practices across the federation, including at the board level. We are committed to developing and supporting inclusivity, diversity, and anti-racism in every facet of what we do.

How to Apply:

Please submit your application form through the Federation’s recruitment system by clicking External Applicant by Friday 7th March 2025.

Your application should focus on clearly outlining and evidencing your ability to meet the requirements set out in the job description.

For a confidential discussion about the role please contact Alison Lynch, Senior HR Business Partner on 07787 522060 or email alynch@hassenbrook.org.uk
