The School

Jumeirah College is a GEMS Premium Secondary School which delivers The National Curriculum for England, offering the full range of GCSE and A level courses. The College has been repeatedly judged to be Outstanding in inspections. Although non-selective, students achieve exceptional exam results which compare to top UK schools. In 2016 48% of Year 11 gained 8 or more A*/A and at A level 76% of all results were A*-B.

The Post: Teacher of Mathematics

From September 2017 we are looking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Mathematics to join the College.  There may also be a responsibility position with this role.

The successful candidate will work in an exceptional department which is both extremely popular and successful. In 2016 all GCSE candidates gained A*-C, with over 60% gaining A*/A. At A level the department regularly has over half the year group continuing into the sixth form. In 2016 80% gained A*-B at A2 Mathematics, with 100% in Further Maths. The opportunities which Mathematics present for students is central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.

The successful applicant will have the following:

A certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge and experience of leading a high performing teaching team.

Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level or equivalent. We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals. You should have a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching. 

At least 2 years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England. 

To be considered for these posts you must hold a B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent. The successful applicant will possess the willingness to commit to Extra Curricular activities.
