Job overview

MPS With TLR responsibilities for the right candidates.

Are you up for a challenge? Do you want to be part of a proven successful team that really makes a difference to pupils’ lives?

Bloxwich Academy is looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner of Maths. At heart, the candidate is ambitious to inspire and motivate young children to reach their potential regardless of their background. The role provides opportunities for a successful professional to cultivate and lead a key subject in the school. We are seeking someone who can continue to drive standards and develop a curriculum that helps shape the futures of young adults through the disciplines of Mathematics.

Since Matrix Trust took over in April 2015, the Academy has gone through an overwhelming transformation.  Behaviour in the Academy is now deemed a strength where pupils are now flourishing within a caring environment, based on positive relationships between staff and pupils.

‘The behaviour of pupils is good. Relationships between pupils and staff are highly positive. Teachers model respectful behaviour through their everyday interactions with pupils.’ Ofsted report January 2018

The successful candidate will have access to a range of excellent professional development opportunities within Bloxwich Academy and Matrix Trust. Together we are a community that strives to challenge ourselves, underpinned by research and pedagogy.

Join the journey to turn Bloxwich Academy from once being one of the lowest achieving schools in the country to one of the highest.  If you have the talent, ideas and vision to be part of our future, we would love to hear from you.

Role Starting: September 2019

Application Closing Date: Monday 25th February 2019

At Bloxwich Academy we expect everyone to 'be the best they can be'. We aim for all of our pupils to be respectful, confident and motivated learners who are proud of their achievement and their academy. We want all of our learners to aspire to achieve academically; to be able to access higher education or a good quality apprenticeship and to develop their employability skills to give our young people real-life chances.

It is our strong belief that embedding high standards of behaviour and attitudes to learning, along with developing excellent learning and teaching practices, lead to the best educational outcomes. We strive to provide high-quality professional development to all our staff to ensure they are the best practitioners in their fields. In addition to recruiting inspiring teachers and quality support staff to guide our young people to succeed. Through being part of Matrix Academy Trust we work closely with our training school to meet this aim. The progress achieved here at Bloxwich Academy in the last 12 months has been vast and we are determined to see standards improve further each and every day.
