Teacher of Mathematics 

Start date:  September 2021 or sooner 

Full time or part time (0.8 or above) | Permanent 

Salary: £29,615 - £45,777 

+ additional course leader allowance for the right candidate 

We are looking for an inspirational Teacher of Mathematics to join our dynamic sixth form college from September 2021, or sooner. You must be committed to active and innovative teaching and learning and be passionate about the subject. There is an opportunity for additional responsibility as a Course Leader for the right candidate.

You will work within a well-resourced Maths department that provides an exciting environment to deliver outstanding teaching and learning. We teach the whole range of ability from GCSE re-sit to Further Maths A level with many students going to university to study Maths related courses.  We make use of big whiteboards around the class as well as mini whiteboards to ensure that lessons are interactive and that the students are encouraged to co-operate on their work.  Every year we enter students for the UK Maths challenge and enter a team to the team challenge.  We have excellent links with HE, including Imperial College London, sending students on courses as well as hosting undergraduate ambassadors.  

The College is currently undergoing a digital transformation strategy and it is envisaged that all students will have access to an IPad to support their learning. If you are keen to help improve the digital literacy of learners, then we want to hear from you.

The salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ scale (£29,615 - £45,777) per annum inclusive of Inner London Weighting. Progression will be by one scale point each year, subject to satisfactory appraisal outcomes, until scale 9 is reached. Additional Course Leader allowance is available for the right candidate.
