The post is full-time permanent position for a teacher with enthusiasm and drive who wishes to work in an academic sixth form college. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to be part of a dedicated and innovative team of teachers who promote a lively, student-centred learning environment where a strong commitment to meeting the needs of individual students is of paramount importance. The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through continuing professional development and in-service training.    

There are currently over 800 students studying Mathematical subjects at King Edward VI, including Mathematics, Further Maths, Statistics and Core Maths. In Year 12 over 300 students take Mathematics with a further 75 studying Statistics. In addition to Year 12, a further 229 students study Mathematics in year 13 with upwards of 90 taking Statistics. These students are taught by eleven teachers, mostly full-time, who generally teach Mathematics with one other mathematical based subject alongside it. Mathematics at King Edward's follows the AQA specification and Statistics the Pearson specification. In addition to timetabled lessons, subject staff work with students in additional workshop time to support student progress, as well as offering some individual support where applicable. Students of Mathematical based subjects are taught in a purpose build Maths building and the department embrace technology in their teaching throughout the courses offered. The majority of our students choose to attend university after their time at college, with many studying courses in Mathematics and Engineering.
