 We are looking for a Teacher of Maths to join St Anne’s School. You must be a motivated and driven teaching professional who is passionate about promoting a love of learning, intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset, who has a genuine interest in high quality learning outcomes and who is keen to frame the future curriculum of the island’s educational programmes.

Key to this role is not only the ability to work within a tight-knit team but to embrace an autonomous role where you will be integral in guiding, framing and shaping the curriculum to ensure a high quality of learning experiences for our learners.

St Anne’s School in Alderney teaches children from 4 to 16 and has a current roll of 128.

As part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, you can expect to enjoy no VAT and a flat tax rate of 20% as well as a generous personal allowances on income. Alderney has much to offer whether it is the relaxed, safe and family focussed environment through to the abundant outdoor activities complemented by a generally warmer climate than you would expect in the UK. The schools work closely with Guernsey and Educational Support Officers make regular visits to the island to ensure you have all the help and support you need, including focussed CPD opportunities, to deliver a high quality learning experience.

With regular links to Southampton, Bournemouth and northern France, you can easily enjoy day trips or just sit back and enjoy the many excellent restaurants and cafes to while away the day.

The Bailiwick of Guernsey is made up of four islands: Guernsey, Herm, Sark and Alderney.

Education in Guernsey comprises of 11 primary schools, four secondary schools, and three special schools which offer education to the Island’s young people who require additional support.

There is a primary and secondary school in Alderney (St Anne’s) and a primary school in Herm, which currently has 10 pupils. There is also a primary and secondary school in Sark, but the States of Guernsey does not have responsibility for this. In addition there are three private schools in Guernsey - Elizabeth College, Ladies College and Blanchelande College - which offer both primary and secondary education.
