Job overview

Are you a qualified teacher able to teach Key Stage 2/3 Maths and English in a Key Stage 3 context? Are you looking for a new challenge in a supportive and welcoming environment?

Joining us, you will teach Maths and English to students with additional needs in supported mainstream classes within the SEND department.

To be successful, you will have good knowledge and awareness of additional educational needs strategies and have an ability to differentiate work appropriately. You will feel confident about teaching Maths and English up to Key Stage 3. We would welcome applications from teachers with either primary or secondary training and experience.

With our ethos of ‘Learning, Respect and Belonging’, we have high aspirations for everyone and expect everyone to contribute positively to the school by working hard and participating in school activities. We treat everyone as an individual and value personal strengths and qualities.

Homewood School is part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust, working in collaboration with local primary schools serving the beautiful Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. All teaching staff are provided with an IT device, and there is also a nursery based on the school site, which offers discounts to Homewood Staff.

It’s a competitive market out there, and we want to know what it is that makes you the one we can invest in. Detail your successes in your covering letter and get us excited about you.

We are not accepting applications from employment agencies for this position but would be delighted to receive a direct application.

Closing date: 22nd May 2022; however, early applications are encouraged as we review applications as we receive them.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all members of the community. Homewood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure. You are advised that this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and therefore, this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
