Job overview

We are seeking a committed, loyal and enthusiastic teacher of maths to join our very strong maths department. The department consists of 9 members of staff who all teach across the ability and age range. Over 71% pupils gained a Grade 4 and above in Maths for the 2017 examinations. As we are a STEM Assured School, Maths is hugely popular at KS5 with over a 100 taking these at AS/A2 level. The appointed candidate will teach KS3 - KS5 and across all ability ranges in a very supportive environment.

Ernest Bevin College is an 11-19 boys school with a mixed sixth form of 350 students based in state of the art buildings especially in STEM subjects, and with good transport links. Our last Ofsted inspection in October 2011 judged the school to be OUTSTANDING.

In 2017, 65% of pupils obtained both English and Maths at GCSE, 33% obtained the Ebacc and over a 100 pupils out of a cohort of 150 have gone to University, over 60 in STEM related subjects. We are one of only 4 schools in the country to have been awarded STEM status, the only school in London to have a Combined Cadet Force on site and we have recently formed Cricket Academy.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and staff. The position is subject to a DBS check.

The job description, person specification and application form can be found on our website. Visits to the college are welcome.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday January 24th 2018.
