Required for September 2019

The Thrive Partnership Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Maths based at The Philip Morant School and College. In the summer the school celebrated its best results in recent years.  Our ethos is encapsulated in three words: ‘Aspiration, Success, Kindness’ which underpin our approach to all aspects of school life.  Philip Morant is ambitious for all of its students in their pursuit of excellence whether that is in the classroom, on the football pitch, the stage or working within the community.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a passion for their subject, as well as contributing to the wider life of the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a successful classroom teacher to broaden their experience or a newly qualified teacher seeking their first post.  The Trust has an extensive personalised CPD programme and excellent opportunities to support rapid career development.

About Philip Morant School And College

Our aim is to provide each of our students with the highest quality education and care and for every student to achieve their full academic, social, physical and spiritual potential. We feel that the school has a great deal to offer and is therefore justified in making considerable demands on all our students to maintain and achieve the highest possible standards.

The school is organised on a House basis, which gives students the advantage of belonging to a small ‘school within a school’.

During Years 7 - 9, we offer a broad and balanced education for all students, which takes into account the level of ability of each individual student and some students begin GCSEs early. In the course of the 9th Year, choices are made regarding the ensuing 10th and 11th Year courses. In the 11th Year students are entered for G.C.S.E. examinations and vocational qualifications, as appropriate. We aim to enter all students for a full examination programme where appropriate.

Our sixth form, Philip Morant College, has purpose built accommodation and we have been delighted with its success since its reformation in 1996. We offer a wide range of A level subjects which are supplemented by advanced vocational courses and extra curriculum programme. As in the rest of the school, the emphasis in our sixth form is on quality and excellence.

We are continually improving our site and facilities to ensure we are moving constantly forward in this respect. The whole school community is very pleased with the refurbishments to date and these are already making a very positive impact on learning.
