We require a highly motivated and talented practitioner of Maths who is committed to raising the expectations and achievements of our students. We are looking to recruit an inspirational teacher with enthusiasm, sensitivity, resilience, drive, strong interpersonal skills and ambition. The department is fully staffed, stable and consists of ten Maths specialists. It has a strong track record of improvement both in terms of GCSE results and the quality of teaching and learning.

Applications from NQTs or experienced teachers welcome. We recognise that your NQT year is an important one and we believe you will not receive better provision than within our incredibly supportive and skilled team.

Training and support is a natural strength of the department. We have been key contributors to the development of trainee teachers within the School Direct programme. As the Subject Lead within the programme, our record of supporting trainees to complete with good and outstanding outcomes is impressive. Several of our trainees now form part of our department and they can confirm that the level of support and guidance continues throughout the NQT year and beyond. The department is well-resourced.

Harwich and Dovercourt High School is an 11-18 Academy with 1200 students. It belongs to the North East Essex Education Partnership Trust of 7 local independent academies committed to collegiate working and development. This is an attractive part of the country with excellent links to London and the Continent.
