We are looking to appoint an engaging and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to join our highly effective Faculty. 

This post offers an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified and committed teacher, to work within an innovative and successful Mathematics team. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated professional who has a real love for their subject and the capacity to use creative approaches in their teaching. We have a hardworking, well-staffed department with a strong team ethos. 

Our ideal candidate will be a committed practitioner who shares our vision ‘Let your light so shine – Be the best you can be’. You will have the ability to teach up to A ‘Level/ Key Stage 5. 

This post would also be suitable for an NQT looking for a supportive and well-structured NQT programme.

Maths NQT started July 2018

I was attracted to TGS when one of my university peers was enjoying her PGCE placement at the school. The main attraction was how she spoke about the Maths department. She wasn’t lying when she said that they are friendly and supportive. One of the reasons for me settling into teaching so well is a result of how welcomed I felt across the school.

In my weekly NQT meeting's, my mentor ensures that I am on track with progression as a new teacher as well as meeting the teaching standards each week, which contributes towards completing the NQT programme. Meetings also include my personal wellbeing – My mentor gives me solid advice and plenty of support on managing my workload and how best to reach the goals I have set myself in the workplace.
