Ark Burlington Danes Academy is a non-selective, all-through comprehensive school. The academy opened in September 2006 and has made rapid progress to become a highly successful and over-subscribed local school. In its 2013 Ofsted inspection, Ark Burlington Danes was rated outstanding in every category.

The academy is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to deliver outstanding teaching and learning of Maths. Mathematics has received excellent recent results at Ark BDA and the subject thrives as an A level and as Further Maths. The successful Maths teacher will work with a highly motivated team of superbly collaborative Maths teachers committed to instilling in our students, a passion for Maths, one of the school’s specialist subjects.

We are looking to fill a number of positions within our Maths department including a Lead Practitioner of Maths and a 2i/c Maths.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • be a passionate Teacher of Maths and a committed team player
  • have experience of raising attainment and developing excellence
  • be able to teach A-Level Further Mathematics
  • be committed to working collaboratively within the department
  • demonstrate high levels of ambition and optimism regarding what the academy and its students can achieve.

Curriculum

We believe that everyone deserves to be accepted, included and empowered to live a life that is purposeful and fulfilling. Our curriculum is a key driver of this vision and our Christian ethos. We place the curriculum at the heart of school life. It drives all other decisions that we make and is the best means we have of demonstrating as a school what we believe in and what we stand for. Our curriculum is a broad, balanced and equitable offer; built around the core disciplines of English, mathematics, science, humanities, languages and religious education. All subject areas prepare pupils for future study within their discipline, with mastery of core and foundation subjects ensuring pupils have choice later on in their education; as they specialise in key areas of study.  The curriculum in each subject area has been designed backwards from university study, through A-Level, GCSE, and into the Primary and Early Years phase to ensure students can reach their fullest potential.
