We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of Maths to teach across KS3 to KS5 from September 2017.
The successful candidate will have the ability to teach across all age and ability ranges. You will be an effective classroom teacher with the ability to raise the achievement of all students and be keen to play a full part in the life of the school.
Applications from NQTs are welcome as the school has a strong NQT training and support programme. A TLR may be available for an outstanding candidate.
Mathematics is well taught at Prendergast School with 69% of the cohort achieving A* - C GCSE in 2016. The successful candidate will be joining a very strong team of teachers who enjoy working together to develop a love of learning in our students.
Prendergast School is an Outstanding 11-16 Girls School with a mixed 6th Form of 300 and benefits from being part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools. Awarded its third Outstanding OFSTED grading in a row in November 2013, the school has been leading girls’ education in Lewisham for over 125 years.
We are committed to providing excellent CPD for aspirational Middle Leaders and offer the accredited SSAT National Award for Middle Leaders (NAML) to all Middle Leaders. We have a long history of providing exceptional education to young people. We were founded in 1880 as Prendergast Grammar School for Girls on a site in Catford provided by the Leathersellers’ Company, which then funded the school’s move to its current site in 1995.
We are now part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of schools, a group of three secondary and two primary schools as well as Prendergast 6th Form. We are very fortunate to be part of the Federation and receive a lot of support from the Leathersellers’ Company, that helps our students succeed.
We are very proud of our last Ofsted judgement of Outstanding in all areas, our third Outstanding judgement in a row. We are described in the most recent report as ‘exceptional’ and having ‘exemplary attitudes to learning’ across the school.
