ANTICIPATED START MONDAY 21ST OCTOBER 2019 

We are looking to appoint an outstanding Maths teacher to join our current Maths team, to cover a period of maternity leave.

Summerhill School is situated on the edge of the Shropshire / Staffordshire border, overlooking open countryside, but with easy access to Birmingham and the motorway network.

You will be able to plan and deliver stimulating and challenging lessons whilst setting appropriate and challenging work for all abilities.  We are looking for someone who is committed to working with colleagues across the school and who is ambitious for their own professional development.

Summerhill School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational, community secondary school for children aged 11-16. It is situated in Kingswinford, outside Dudley in the West Midlands, and there are 1,010 students on its roll.

We are a community school. We have wonderful children, caring and supportive parents and a great team of staff. We have modern, well-equipped facilities and are located within beautiful countryside. We’ve faced some challenges over the last few years, but this is a school that’s improving rapidly in every way. We were visited in April 2019 by an Ofsted inspection team and we’re very pleased that they recognised our improvements and rated us as Good in every category. Since then, our exam results have improved further. Members of our school community can be genuinely proud to be part of Summerhill.

Summerhill students achieve superb examination results. Our attainment levels have been well above the national average for many years. We are eagerly waiting publication of 2019 national results which we expect to confirm that Summerhill’s progress levels are also now significantly higher than other schools (locally and nationally).
