 St. Michael’s Catholic Academy is a thriving, inclusive and positive community. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated classroom practitioner to work within our Maths department. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to join the Academy as part of the Carmel Education Trust.

The successful candidate will: 

 Be able to teach Maths to KS3 and KS4; 

 Develop and sustain high quality teaching and learning across a range of abilities; 

 Demonstrate good pedagogy practice, sharing it within the Maths department; 

 Ensure that the quality of lesson plans, the use of assessment and homework set are of the highest quality; 

 Support colleagues so that appropriate standards of behaviour are established and maintained; 

and 

 Assist colleagues to ensure that all aspects of student achievement in Maths are monitored and evaluated and this information is used to inform priorities and targets for improvement.

About St Michael's Catholic Academy

St Michael’s Catholic Academy was established as a state secondary in 1964 in Billingham, County Durham. It became part of Carmel Education Trust in 2013, along with a number of other local Catholic schools. 

Currently, the co-educational secondary caters for more than 800 pupils aged 11-16. St Michael’s intends to move to a larger, more modern site in the near future.
