Our Results: We have a track record of outstanding academic results and on the basis of our 2019 outcomes have been named Sunday Times Greater London State Secondary of the Year 2020.  44% of A level grades were at A*or A, with over a quarter of the cohort scoring at least two A grades. Level 3 vocational outcomes were equally strong, with 70% of grades at Distinction or better.  At GCSE, half of grades were at grade 7 or higher, and a third of the cohort achieved at least 8 GCSEs at grade 7 or better.  Our ALPS grade is 2 at both A level and GCSE, and our ‘Progress 8’ score is 0.68. Nine students gained places at Oxbridge this year, and on top of this (as is typical) students secured places for Medicine, Art, Architecture & Media and other competitive courses at prestigious institutions.

Our Location & Community: TThe school is in beautiful new £48m buildings overlooking the Green Belt.  It is easily accessible from Northern, Piccadilly and Overground rail links, and buses run past the entrance.  We attract students from eloquent and supportive communities across North London and Hertfordshire. We have submitted plans for expansion in response to significant long term over-subscription.

This Role: The Maths faculty is one of the most conspicuously successful in the school.  Student progress is strong, building on above-average intake and 7 hours teaching per fortnight at KS3, in setted groups averaging 26 students. Last summer our GCSE cohort achieved over 90% 9-4 in Maths and 96% A*-A in Further Maths.  Large numbers of students continue their study of Mathematics into the 6th form: there are currently 4 A level groups (including a Further Maths group) in each year, ably supported by a strong and cohesive team of teachers.  At A level students achieved 73% A*-B in both Maths and Further Maths.  

This vacancy is a new post reflecting expansion of the school and the faculty and is suitable for either experienced or newly-qualified teachers.  We seek a high-calibre professional capable of teaching at KS3, 4 and 5 to join our highly committed and lively staff team.
