Job overview

Hollygirt School is a small independent school, educating children from the age of 3 up to 16. We take a non-selective intake and have pupils of a wide ranging ability profile. A small number of our pupils are on EHC plans, many have additional access arrangements for examinations. We take a two form entry into Senior School. Classes are small.

Hollygirt School is seeking a full time Teacher of Mathematics from September 2018.

The Maths Department comprises a Head of Department and one other full time colleague (this role). The post holder will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils (may get some opportunity to teach some top juniors for taster lessons too).

We are requiring someone who would like to work in our small, friendly, quirky environment. We teach small mixed ability classes with a full range of ability profile, including some children with diagnosed special educational needs.

Our classes are small (usually 10-15) and the department currently sets on ability across each year group once the children have settled into Year 7. There may be some additional very small group Maths support lessons.

It is important that the post holder is able to work as part of a small team, with the interests of the individual pupils at heart. The right person will be a dynamic practitioner, with vision, energy and a passion for his/her subject.

The role is suitable to an experienced or a newly/recently qualified teacher.

Hollygirt School is a charitable trust under the name The Rhoda Jessop Educational Charity. The trust is overseen by a small group of Trustees, who also act as governors of the school.
