Job overview

Ingleby Manor Free School and Sixth form are looking to appoint a Teacher of Maths to join our academy in September 2020 on a full time, permanent basis.

We are looking for an outstanding Teacher of Maths to work in a fast paced department delivering Maths at KS3 and KS4. For the right candidate there will be an opportunity for a TLR to work as a Second in Department.

The role of Second in Department would involve co-leading your subject area to ensure outstanding outcomes for students. This includes learning and teaching, curriculum provision, standard of attainment and behaviour and safety within the curriculum area. As Second in Department you will work collaboratively with the Head of Department to provide a vision for developing Maths across the curriculum. You will provide highly engaging, relevant and innovative learning opportunities at all key stages to ensure students make exceptional progress in your subject and are provided with the skills they need to be successful in both the academy and their future lives. You will demonstrate outstanding learning and teaching in these areas, both in your own practice and leadership of others.

Ingleby Manor Free School opened in 2014 and has quickly established itself as an ambitious and dynamic place to work.  Popular with parents, we are one of the most over-subscribed schools in the area, offering a high standard of education in a smaller academic setting. On average, each year group consists of 120 students.

Ingleby Manor School seeks an ambitious and effective Teacher or Second in Department to teach Mathematics whilst supporting the Head of Maths in the running of the department.

This post, which has both a KS3 & KS4 focus, will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work with students from across the school.

Working as part of a team of 5, you will be delivering outstanding teaching and learning of Mathematics ensuring students reach the highest levels of achievement possible.  You will receive high quality and regular CPD to support you in your role and assist with your professional development.

Ingleby Manor Free School and Sixth Form aims to be a vibrant centre of learning and a hub of activity for the whole of the Ingleby Barwick community. It came into being through the government's Free School programme. The founding resident and community group behind the school is called Ingleby Manor Foundation Trust (IMFT), whilst our education partner is Delta Academies Trust.

Our school will foster learning communities and promote and provide excellence in teaching, learning and relationships by setting high standards of behaviour, inclusion and engagement and instilling high personal and collective aspirations. We will develop lively and inquisitive minds and always engage and communicate with parents, extended families and the wider community. Our students will leave their time with us as successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens, ready to grasp every opportunity available to them in their future careers and wider lives.

Backed by an education partner (Delta Academies Trust) with wide experience and strong resources, students attending Ingleby Manor Free School will be taught in smaller than usual classes and will expect to receive high quality, innovative, teaching in an enriched curriculum offer. Our longer school day means we have the chance to offer a wider range of activities and we will be offering students the chance to pursue their own strengths and interests from an early age.

As a new member of staff, you will be well supported in a school where training and development of staff is of a high quality and takes place throughout the academic year as we see professional learning as a major strategic priority.

“Ingleby Manor Free School and Sixth Form is at an exciting time in its development. 2019 saw the first set of GCSE results for the school. We are a school with a strong sense of community, a welcoming staff and desire to be the best we can be.”

Ray Parkinson, Principal.
