Values and vision

Lostock Hall Academy wants to create a safe and happy environment for students to grow and learn in. It wishes to nurture individuals and their talents and help them on the path to success. Community is at the heart of the secondary school and it encourages pupils to contribute to it at school, local, national and global levels. Initiatives include an active School Council and Pupil Voice, where skills in leadership and teamwork are developed, while mentoring schemes teach students to be patient and kind. Lostock Hall Academy wishes to have a strong partnership with parents at the school and believes that this is the key to its success. The Preston based school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities for students to get involved in and learn new skills to broaden their future opportunities. These range from sports clubs to band practice.

Ofsted

“Most teaching enables students to achieve well. Teachers and support staff work hard to meet the needs of their students by providing engaging and varied activities that build sequentially and promote their understanding. Teachers are working hard to support students’ literacy and numeracy skills including through the ‘ready to learn’ sessions at the start of the day, which include opportunities for problem solving and private reading”.
