Values and Vision

The Academy has high ambitions for, and expectations of, all its students and encourages them to ‘be the best version of themselves’ in everything they do. Yewlands Academy expect all students to be 5* Learners and demonstrate 5* Behaviours for Learning:

  • Preparation – students arrive on time with their equipment and are ready to learn
  • Engagement – students participate in their learning positively and try their best
  • Resilience – students accept that learning is challenging, don’t give up and are prepared to bounce back from their mistakes

The Academy is a caring, nurturing and focused community with an atmosphere of calm and purposeful learning. This ensures that all students feel safe, happy and secure, achieve excellent academic progress and can be the best that they can be.  I believe that mutual respect and integrity are both vital to forming positive relationships and ultimately ensuring that all students have the life chances that they deserve.
