Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2017, 68% of students achieved GCSE A*- C grades, including English and Mathematics at four and above. Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.
Our Governors want to appoint well-qualified, motivated and innovative teachers who are committed to raising achievement and who has the capacity to make a real contribution to the work of a supportive and continually improving school. The ability to teach across the age and ability range is required.
The posts would suit either an NQT or more experienced teacher. There is the possibility of a Key Stage Responsibility for experienced Teachers.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check.
This post is considered to be a customer-facing positon; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that the post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
