Norlington School and 6th Form is a small 11-16 boy’s school with a mixed 6th form school. Over the past 5 years the school has transformed itself into one of the highest performing schools in the country and has been recognised by the Minister for State Schools on three separate occasions for student achievement.

The school has an excellent CPD programme and is committed to developing all staff, as we continue our journey to becoming an ‘Outstanding’ school. This includes three staff training afternoons, two department meetings and one twilight training session every 6 weeks. Lessons finish for students at 1:30 pm on a Friday.

Maths department: 

The performance of the maths department has been outstanding with results of 75% A*- C as an overall average over the last 5 years, placing the school in the top 5% nationally for boy’s achievement. There is a collaborative approach to teaching and learning within the department, where expertise and good practice is shared to ensure high quality teaching and learning within the department.

The school opened a new 6th Form in September 2015 with over 80% of the students choosing to study A-Level Mathematics. 

We require from September 2019:

• Excellent classroom practice

• The ability to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower our students to achieve

• Excellent knowledge of the Maths curriculum at KS3-KS5

• There will be an opportunity to teach A Level Maths for suitable candidates.
