The James Young High School is a six year comprehensive In Livingston South, which serves the communities of Bankton, Bellsquarry, Dedridge and Williamston primary schools. We are supported by an active Parent Council. The roll for session 2016-2017 is 1130 pupils. Around twenty five percent of our pupils are enrolled as placing requests from out with the catchment. We are looking for two enthusiastic and skilled Support for Learning Teachers with drive and ambition, who are committed to improvement and excellence. You will be joining the school at an exciting time where we are working with existing staff to build a new team structure, closely linked with our House Structure. There will be opportunities to play a leading role in ensuring the vision for support for learning reflects the aspirations of the school in meeting the needs of all our pupils. You should be committed to further raising achievement of our pupils, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy skills, and be able to demonstrate an active interest in current educational developments. The specific duties relating to this support for learning post will be discussed at interview.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
