Job overview

Are you an experienced Mathematics teacher seeking a leadership opportunity? If so, then this is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher of Maths to join our amazing team and take on some additional leadership responsibilities. We are offering a two-year temporary TLR payment of £2,500 with the hopes of making this permanent as our Academy grows and student intake increases.

Outwood Academy Redcar has been part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust since October 2017 and is an exceptional place to build your future. Our hard-working community is welcoming & friendly; students and staff make excellent progress together, here on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is at the forefront of maths education, both in terms of ensuring students are taught maths for understanding, and in enabling every student to leave school with a maths qualification that opens doors for them. We have a curriculum that allows for this and the training and support for teachers to feel confident to facilitate this for all.

We have great training opportunities for teachers new to the academy including: Teaching for Mastery; Open Classroom events; Maths Matters; TSST; Reasoning at KS3; weekly professional development time and further programmes free through the Outwood Institute of Education. We invest in you, so you invest in our students.

In line with the Government’s announcement, our academy is closed to visitors until 8th March. However, we are still busily planning ahead and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. Due to the current uncertainty regarding re-opening, we will be flexible with our interview process.

Understandably, visits to the academy are not possible in the current circumstances, however, we are keen to ensure that you have as much information to proceed with your application as possible. If you would like a conversation about either the academy or the position, please contact Simon Robinson at s.robinson@redcar.outwood.com for a telephone conversation or Google Meet. Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage and shortlisted candidates will have time in the academy as part of the interview process.

Closing date: Midday on 8 March 2021.

We reserve the right to close advertisements early. Advertisements will therefore close at 12 noon, either on the advertised closing date, or the day the decision has been taken to close the advertisement early.
