Working with UCAT there will be opportunities for you to work with Modern Foreign Language Education Specialists from the University of Chester; engage in classroom based research into teaching and learning; and use the outcomes as part of a Master’s programme at the University – for free!

UCEA wishes to appoint a permanent Teacher of MFL, inspiring students to have a passion for the subject and an understanding of its key ideas, concepts and skills.
The successful candidate will be able to explicitly model and develop models of teaching and learning so that students can make connections and apply their learning in a variety of contexts. They will continuously improve classroom practice and achieve excellent student outcomes.
The ability to teach Spanish and French is desirable as you will be teaching KS4 French. The ability to teach Spanish or French ‘A’ Level would be an advantage. You should demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of this active department and have experience of GCSE examinations and a good understanding of the requirements for the new specifications.
In return we will offer the opportunity to:
- Work with a MFL specialist from the University of Chester to engage in classroom based research, that could lead to a fully funded MA
- Work collaboratively with other MFL teachers across the Trust to learn with and from each other
