Job overview

St Mary’s is one of the two Diocesan high schools for students of all abilities that serves families on the Wirral. In November 2016 St Mary’s joined the Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust which includes the other Wirral Diocesan Catholic High School, St John Plessington which has consistently been judged to be Outstanding in OFSTED inspections. It is an exciting time for our College. The opportunity for the two schools to work collaboratively to share best practice is already bearing fruit; with significant improvements in maths results in both 2017 and 2018 with externally moderated data telling us this rapid improvement will continue this year.

Together we have been able to offer a programme of continuous professional development that we believe is second to none. There is bespoke provision at whatever career stage a colleague is at currently to meet their professional needs and ambitions.

As you would hope our Modern Language department is well resourced with a suite of classrooms and class sizes that reflect our determination to ensure our students realise their potential.  The Departmental Team includes a Lead Practitioner.  There has been a significant increase in the uptake of Modern Languages in KS4 with the vast majority of students in Year 10 now studying a language to GCSE level.  Modern Languages are also offered in KS5.

We are looking to recruit a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of French who will join a supportive team focused on improving standards through engaging students in their learning.

We can offer you the professional development to support you in being successful in the role and the opportunity to work with our students of whom we are very proud.    We are committed to safeguarding the young people in our care, and we expect all our staff to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be subject to relevant clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service.      Please contact the College for an Application Form and Job Description or download from the Vacancies area of our website http://www.stmaryswallasey.com Completed Application Form and covering letter to be returned to the Headteacher, Mr. A. Boyle.  Closing Date Wednesday 22nd May 2019, at 12.00 midday.
