Job overview

At the heart of the Academy Transformation Trust, The Dukeries Academy stimulates every student to Aspire, Achieve and Contribute. Academic attainment is central to everything we do and we want every child to leave with the kind of qualifications that guarantee a great future. But it isn’t just about results: we strive to create well-rounded, responsible individuals who seize opportunities, discover their passions and love to learn throughout life.

Whether you’re an experienced MFL teacher or an ambitious NQT, you will bring the country into the classroom and share your love of speaking and learning a foreign language with our pupils in order to develop fluency from the minute they arrive.

You will go the extra mile to ensure languages are for everybody by making learning interactive, fun and accessible to all and you will enjoy the benefit of top quality ICT resources to aid you with this. You will play a key role in helping pupils to achieve the E-Baccalaureate because we want them to have a suite of skills to help them compete and succeed against the best in a globalised world.

In short, you will be as passionate as we are about transforming the lives of young people and giving them the knowledge and results to get ahead. You’d be joining a forward-thinking department that boasts outstanding results this year at both GCSE and A-level and is looking to further develop and increase the provision of languages in the school. In return, you can look forward to fantastic CPD and prospects that could take you anywhere within the Trust.

The opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as a Year Progress Leader for Year 9 is also available for the right candidate. As part of this additional responsibility you will support both the academic and pastoral achievements of your year group.

You can be certain that we will give you the support to make your ideas reality.

Along the way, you’ll play an important part in taking us from Good to Outstanding, and we can promise it’ll be an exciting and rewarding journey.
