TEACHER OF MFL (GERMAN & FRENCH)

Full time and Permanent - Outer London Teacher’s Pay Scales.

Required: September 2017

Closing date for applications: Midday Wednesday 10th May 2017

Trinity School is a dynamic, forward thinking and oversubscribed mixed Church of England learning community for pupils aged 11-18. Teaching is motivating and fun, and learning opportunities are not confined to the classroom; we offer a range of educational opportunities for all our pupils, with frequent visits to Germany and France. We seek to challenge our pupils’ perceptions and aim to equip them with the skills to be independent and resilient learners. The school is a member of the Trinitas Academy Trust, a collaboration of one secondary school and two primary schools, with more schools due to join us in July.

“The school cares keenly for its pupils. Relationships between staff and pupils are excellent. The individual attentions given to pupils helps them to thrive and leaves them well prepared for the next phase of their education.” “Pupils are committed learners; they want to do well and encourage each other to work hard.” (Ofsted, February 2016)

At Trinity, we can offer you an environment where “behaviour is outstanding” which is “reflected in pupils’ excellent conduct around the site, the respect they show their teachers and the courteous manner in which they greet visitors to the school.” We provide excellent training and induction support programmes for new staff and NQTs, as well as the highest quality professional development through the extensive use of professional networks across the Trust. This is a school with a harmonious working environment and supportive colleagues, which has a very strong, shared Christian ethos. As part of the Trust, we also offer a childcare voucher scheme and competitive pay on the Outer London Pay Scales.

Your new role:

You will be an experienced or Newly Qualified Teacher of German and French who can plan, teach, and assess their specialism from KS3 to KS4, and potentially at KS5. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective teaching and learning of pupils, instilling in them a love of language. The school is looking for an exceptional teacher who can create a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for all pupils of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

What you will need to succeed:

You will need to exhibit a passion for Modern Foreign Languages and radiate creativity and enthusiasm in the classroom. You will have high expectations of yourself and the pupils, and demonstrate a flexible approach to working with other members of staff. You will be committed to improving the learning outcomes for all pupils in the school and sustaining our commitment to providing an opportunity for all pupils to study a modern foreign language.

Trinity School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and all staff and volunteers are expected to share that commitment.

Please note that the successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check.
