Salary – MPS/UPS
Start date: 1st September 2025

An exciting opportunity for a French and Spanish teacher with outstanding potential to join our ambitious and vibrant school. The MFL department plays a leading role in the school’s commitment to outstanding teaching and contribution to the wider life of the school. French and Spanish are taught to years 7 and 8, and many of our students continue their language study into KS5 and beyond. The pedagogy behind the teaching of MFL is unique to Loreto and has been designed to allow for progress for all, as well as stretching the most able. As a department we adhere to the Gianfranco Conti and M.A.R.S.E.A.R.S. approach, combined with a colour coding system for different grammatical structures which is particular to Loreto. We use lexical chunking as a core concept in a curriculum which gives all Loreto students the tools needed to be successful in their MFL studies.
We maintain high standards of behaviour and foster an inclusive environment for all students. Staff are expected to uphold the school’s ethos and reinforce policies on conduct and courtesy. We encourage involvement in co-curricular activities to support students’ development beyond the classroom especially with respect to students’ cultural capital.
