About the role

We are looking for an innovative educator who can share their passion for Mathematics with our enthusiastic Middle and Senior School students. Our students value educators who demonstrate an ability to build positive relationships, deliver differentiated programs and are able to employ a variety of engaging methods to effectively communicate their understanding of Mathematical concepts to all learners.

Duties

You will create a learning environment in which students feel safe to take intellectual risks, feel comfortable to seek assistance and will be encouraged to perform to the best of their abilities. As a Middle and Senior School Mathematics Teacher you will:

Possess a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum (Mathematics) and QCAA Senior Mathematics Courses;

Teach allocated timetables of classes in the Middle and Senior Schools, with an opportunity to be involved in our successful Edge+ Mathematics program;

Fulfil the accountabilities, organisational and pastoral expectations and duties as represented in the College Role Statement of Teacher.

At FCAC, we recognise that not all learning happens within the classroom, with all teachers participating in our extra-curricular program.

Skills and experience required

  • Current Teacher Registration with Queensland College of Teachers is required.
  • An ability to teach Specialist Mathematics may be beneficial (but not essential).
  • An ability to teach a second subject area may be beneficial (but not essential).

About Fraser Coast Anglican College

Fraser Coast Anglican College is a mixed, non-selective, independent, all-through school in Queensland, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school is situated in Hervey Bay.

Fraser Coast Anglican College opened in 1995, welcoming 138 students. The school welcomes international students, who are cared for by homestay families, allowing for them to experience an authentic Australian cultural experience during their time in the country.

Across the school, Fraser Coast Anglican College boasts modern learning facilities, including science laboratories, a purpose-built computer suite, dedicated art and drama classrooms, a well-stocked library, food technology labs, sports courts and expansive outside grounds.

Curriculum

The all-through school offers a broad syllabus in alignment with the Australian Curriculum and the Queensland Curriculum. Teachers work to support pupils as independent learners and encourage them to set themselves goals to reach their full potential across the subject areas. A large emphasis is placed on outdoor learning, the school's well-regarded outdoor education programme includes expeditions and teamwork exercises.
