If you are an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher or trainee teacher who is committed to achieving the very best outcomes from pupils of all levels and ability, we would be delighted to hear from you. This position would suit an ECT or equally an experienced or recently qualified teacher, who would like to work in a happy and successful school.

We are looking for:

A person who really wants to help make Modern Foreign Languages the centre of the school.

An excellent teacher (Experienced or ECT) who believes every child has the potential to succeed in modern foreign languages through delivering teaching and learning that challenges and inspires young people.

The ability and experience to teach French at KS3 and KS4.

The ability to teach Spanish at KS3and KS4 is desirable but NOT essential.

A person who can deliver and implement a highly ambitious and fully inclusive curriculum at both key stages.

An MFL team that have a real passion for their curriculum area.

A strong ethos of high expectations and aspirations, with excellent results in GCSE MFL.

Longridge High School is a mixed, comprehensive, Church of England secondary school without sixth form situated in the town of Longridge in central Lancashire. It is a community state school under the Diocese of Blackburn. A smaller than average size for a secondary school, the school will provide 825 places for secondary school students between the ages of 11-16 when fully subscribed.

The Longridge High School motto that sums up its core values as a school is “Respect, Learn, Grow, Together”, and it prides itself on being “a vibrant and successful learning community”. It is a close-knit and supportive school with a positive atmosphere and strongly welcoming ethos. There is a constant focus on community, with students, teachers and parents all being an essential part of the Longridge learning experience. A broad and balanced curriculum is backed up by a wide range of extra-curricular activities, from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and global citizenship clubs through to chess and modern foreign language groups.

The school has a specialism in maths in computing, and is sometimes known by the name Longridge High School – A Maths and Computing College.
