Job overview

Required for September 2021 a well-qualified teacher of French and/or Spanish to join an established and experienced MFL Faculty. The majority of our pupils take GCSE French or Spanish and the ability to teach at least one language up to this level would be an advantage. This post would suit either an NQT or experienced individual. There may be some flexibility in contracted hours, with the post likely to be in the region of 0.4-0.5 FTE. There is likely to be demand for more hours in subsequent years and having the flexibility to offer more hours could be an advantage. This could be a perfect opportunity for someone returning to work and looking to build up their teaching time over the next few years.

Information on this post and an application form can be downloaded on www.herschel.slough.sch.uk and e-mailed to headspa@herschel.slough.sch.uk

We are happy to arrange an informal virtual meeting with a member of the MFL team should you wish to find out more about the department and school.

Herschel Grammar School is an outstanding (OFSTED 2012), selective grammar school. NOR 1051 including 316 in sixth form. We offer some medical/employee assistance benefits.

About Herschel Grammar School

Herschel Grammar School is a coeducational and selective foundation grammar school founded in the 1940’s. We are proud of our specialist technology college status and we are recognised nationally as a ‘Leading Edge’ school providing examples of innovative educational practice.

We believe that pupils should be offered as wide a range of academic, sporting and extracurricular experiences as possible. We want our pupils to take responsibility, to make a valuable contribution to the running of the school and to become respected members of our community.

To that end we provide opportunities for pupils to travel and learn about other cultures and societies and to develop skills and abilities that will enable them to face the many challenges that lie ahead.
