Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish) Required
Brockington College is a very successful 11-16 college, where pupils enjoy ‘learning to live life to the full’. We are seeking to appoint a permanent teacher of Spanish from August 2018 to teach Spanish across the age and ability range, which is a new addition to our curriculum for 2018-19. The ability to teach a second modern foreign language, preferably French, would be an advantage, in order to widen our modern foreign language provision for pupils next year.
All MFL teaching takes place in classrooms equipped with computers, interactive whiteboards and projectors. MFL teaching at Brockington College is firmly linked to the new KS3 and GCSE programmes of study and the schemes of work are constantly being updated to incorporate changes to the MFL curriculum.
Brockington College is a Church of England Academy, which is attended by pupils from a variety of faith backgrounds and our strong Christian ethos is the firm foundation for all that we do. Our new college building provides state-of-the-art facilities that make a strong contribution to teaching standards and to pupil and staff well-being.
Brockington College converted from an 11-14 high school to an 11-16 school in September 2015 and our first cohort of Year 11 pupils took their GCSE examinations last summer. Our first set of GCSE results were extremely gratifying and reflected all of the hard work put in by members of staff and pupils at Brockington College.
Members of staff enjoy a range of CPD and INSET opportunities, a robust support system for NQTs, free car parking on site, weekly sports opportunities and end of month cakes! The school runs a wide variety of enrichment opportunities for pupils, as well as a range of residential trips, which members of staff support both near and far, from the Forest of Dean and Norfolk to Iceland, South Africa and China.
