Job overview

Sacred Heart Catholic Secondary School, Camberwell

Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish with French)

As a Language College, MFL has a prominent place in the school curriculum and the majority of pupils sit at least one Modern Foreign Language at GCSE. The school is a multilingual community in which the importance of MFL is recognised by staff, students and parents.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed teacher who can deliver outstanding lessons. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching Spanish at KS3, KS4 and ideally KS5. The ability to teach French to KS4 is also desirable. The post is equally suited to an experienced classroom teacher or an NQT, who is looking to join a successful and experienced team where standards are high and we strive for excellence.

Sacred Heart is an outstanding and oversubscribed school. It is one of the leading schools in the country, having finished 20th and 31st in National League Tables for Progress 8 in the last two years respectively. We were also recently named the best secondary school in the country at the National Pupil Premium Awards at the Houses of Parliament, and won three SSAT awards for Pupil Progress. Our students are well motivated, eager to learn and behaviour in the school is excellent. This opening therefore offers applicants an exciting opportunity to join a strong department in an outstanding school.

Visits to the school before application submission are welcomed. Please contact Geoff Vincent on 0207 274 6844 or email GVincent@sacredheart.southwark.sch.uk to arrange this.

Please submit your application by 12pm on Monday 25th February 2019.

Sacred Heart School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
