Job overview

Help take us to new heights in a stunning new campus.

Mark Hall Academy will soon move to a state-of-the-art new campus offering truly twenty-first century facilities for teaching and learning. This will be an exciting new beginning for us – and for your career.

Self-improvement is at the heart of everything we do and we’ll go the extra mile to enhance your skills too via significant investment into CPD. What’s more, you can expect exceptional opportunities for progression, both here and throughout Academy Transformation Trust.

If successful, we’ll look to you to facilitate and encourage inspirational learning experiences in Music and Performing Arts, which will provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and attainment.

Working with the Head of Faculty, you will be responsible for ensuring the academic progress of students throughout key stages, ensuring that appropriate targets are set and monitored and devising appropriate interventions for students who are failing to make the expected levels of progress.

Teaching your subject area across all key stages, you’ll contribute to raising the profile and success of the Faculty/Subject area across the whole academy. Naturally, you’ll enjoy keeping your skills, and those of other colleagues, in delivering lessons up-to-date, as well as participating in professional development so that teaching typicality in the department is never less than ‘Good’. This will involve liaising with external bodies to provide a balanced and enriched curriculum.

You will also get involved in organising journeys and trips to broaden understanding of your subject area in the real world, ensuring students enjoy an extensive range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities.

You’ll find working here rewarding in more ways than one, as our Together Platform offers a comprehensive package of benefits. You will enjoy a health cash plan, shopping discounts, cycle-to-work and gym schemes, cinema tickets and an employee assistance programme – plus all the satisfaction of teaching students who love to learn and grow.

About Mark Hall Academy

Mark Hall Academy has now moved to a state-of-the-art new campus offering truly twenty-first century facilities for teaching and learning. This is an exciting new beginning for us – and for your career.

We’re an exceptionally friendly school, where students and staff love to work hard and achieve great things together. Self-improvement is at the heart of everything we do – we excel in sport, drama and community engagement, supported by a lively and stimulating programme of extracurricular activities.

As our Principal puts it, “As an academy, we will equip all our students with the skills, attributes and qualifications to progress to college, university, employment and happy, successful lives. Education has the power to open doors and transform lives, and that is what we aim to do here.”

Having been rated Good by Ofsted at our last inspection, we’re on our way to Outstanding. In the words of Ofsted:

“Leaders, managers and governors have improved the school significantly since it opened as an academy. Their commitment to raising standards is clearly having an impact. Pupils’ behaviour and attitudes towards their learning have been totally transformed since the school’s opening.”

To discover what sets us apart, you need to visit the academy for yourself. Please get in touch to make an appointment to meet our Principal.
