We have a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher or more experienced professional to join our highly successful and expanding music department. We are looking to employ an inspirational, enthusiastic teacher who has a real passion for music. You will need to be energetic, innovative and able to inspire students both in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities.

Standards of teaching and learning along with extra-curricular music making are excellent with a good take up of peripatetic music tuition. All students study music at Key Stage 3 and there is a very healthy uptake of both BTEC Music Performance and Music Technology at Key Stage 4.  The department also offers BTEC level 3 Music performance, and BTEC level 3 Music Technology at KS5.

The department runs across four main classrooms. These include two Apple suites of iMacs running Logic and Sibelius, a room of 88-note stage pianos and a state of the art band room with eight full sets of Roland electronic drum kits, stage pianos and Yamaha Guitars and Bass guitars. All equipment is available for use outside of timetabled lessons, with plenty of extra-curricular opportunities available. We also have a 32-track digital recording studio with attached live room that is available for use by all students both in lessons and through extra-curricular activities. There is a further separate Mac suite, along with 3 rehearsal rooms all equipped with stage pianos, a sound room for band rehearsals, and a set of 10 apple MacBook Pro laptops.

The aim of the department is to provide the opportunity for as many pupils as possible to perform, write and record music that they can be proud of. You would join a team of music teachers that are supported by a full time music technician and would put music making at the heart of everything you do. You should have knowledge of Music Technology, and a strong commitment to extra-curricular music will be required.
