Cambridge Academic Partnership is a cluster of five schools within the United Learning group.

The three secondary schools, Coleridge Community College, Parkside Community College and Trumpington Community College, one primary, The Galfrid School. and a specialist 13-19 college, Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology, work closely together to realise their goal of being a leading learning partnership.

All staff working in the Partnership collaborate to ensure the schools bring out the best in everyone. We have a shared team of support staff, and the work of teaching departments is coordinated across the schools and all staff gather together for two conference days a year.

Students also benefit from an integrated curriculum which allows them to access specialist facilities across the schools, while our combined extra curricular offer promotes our commitment to education with character.

Our staff tell us that they think Cambridge Academic Partnership is a great community to work in and to develop their career - within the wider United Learning group we aim to offer you unrivalled professional development and the opportunity to work as part of a team where your contribution is really valued.

We are excited to offer the opportunity for a talented professional to teach Music as part of the Create Faculty at the Cambridge Academic Partnership.   We are looking for someone with a vision for achieving outstanding outcomes and a remarkable experience for our students, in line with United Learning's Framework for Excellence.  Whilst the role will effectively be based at Parkside Community College, the Music Teacher will form part of the wider CAP Create Team, opening access to a wider variety of resources, and will teach students from across the partnership in combined GCSE classes and extra-curricular provision.

Create is a thriving performing arts faculty consisting of Music, Dance, Drama and Art. Create students enjoy one lesson per week of all four art forms in KS3 before going on to have the option of studying all disciplines at GCSE and IB level. Within the wider CAP Music department we have a good uptake at GCSE and IB level, and are proud to offer a wide range of extra curricular provision, including orchestras, carnival crew (samba drummers, horns and dancers), chamber choirs, community school choirs, a funk band, beginner big bands, tech clubs and a number of world music clubs! The faculty has a full and exciting calendar of events. This academic year alone we have produced a production of Little Shop of Horrors, a Winter Concert involving over 250 students and many other small scale events within the local community. Throughout the Spring term, GCSE students perform their coursework in a series of Spotlight evenings. We are eager to meet teachers who combine a passion for performance with an ability to help our students to academic excellence.

If you have a passion for Music and are committed to supporting and inspiring young people to fulfill their potential then please apply to join Team Create! For an insight into what we do please look at out twitter feed @CAPCreate

We reserve the right to bring forward the closing date if we consider that we have received an appropriate number of suitable candidates for the post.

About Parkside Community College & Sixth Form

‘This is a small school where pupils enrich their understanding of a much wider world’ – Ofsted, 2023

Parkside Community College is a small caring school situated in the very heart of Cambridge, with incredibly high expectations in all aspects of school life.

We are proud of our achievements in helping our students to thrive for excellence. Our GCSE performance in 2023 places us in the top 30 schools in England for progress. We are always looking to improve what we do. Our community helps us to remain a leading school in Cambridge and beyond. We expect all of our staff members, students, and parents to 'play their part' in making Parkside a great place to learn and to grow. We also place a great emphasis on our value of responsibility, on good citizenship and ethical decision-making in all years.

We are very proud to have again been judged 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in April 2023. The inspectors recognised that: ‘teachers are happy’; we provide regular training to equip teachers with strong subject knowledge; we collaborate with them to ensure their workload is manageable; and we have established a highly inclusive ethos where all are welcomed.
