We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational Teacher of Music who will continue to build on the strong tradition and reputation of Music at Mayfield.
Music plays an important part in the life of the School. In addition to academic music, almost half of our girls receive instrumental tuition or are involved in School music. Our Schola Cantorum is highly renowned and has recently performed at Westminster Abbey and Cathedral, and St Paul’s Cathedral. The School hosts the biennial Mayfield Festival and the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition. We are proud of the number of girls who go on to study or be involved in music at university.
As well as being a personable, dynamic and accomplished musician, the successful candidate will have experience teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5, and will be enthusiastic about helping develop the extra-curricular provision of the Department. This position would suit an NQT, but applications are welcome from more experienced teachers.
Mayfield is a leading Catholic Independent boarding and day School for girls aged 11-18 situated in the beautiful East Sussex countryside, less than 50 miles from London and 40 minutes from Gatwick. We offer excellent working conditions in an outstanding environment, as well as a competitive salary package. All staff are expected to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the School and accommodation may be available.
