Job overview
Ashville Harrogate seeks to appoint an experienced Teacher of Music, to join our Music department. This is a part time role, 0.5 FTE.
The successful candidate will teach class music lessons to pupils across the college and where appropriate contribute to the extra-curricular life of the department. An essential requirement for this role is to teach Key Stage 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 desirable and a willingness to teach Key Stage 1 and 2.
A proven ability to teach music and inspire young people as well as a good music degree from a university or conservatoire would be beneficial for this role. The ability to play the piano would also be an advantage.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.
Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England. The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
