Job overview

We seek to appoint a dynamic and versatile Music teacher and musician to assist the Director of Music in developing our hugely successful music provision. Central Foundation has its own Music School, operating 5 days a week prior to the normal school day. With over a quarter of all students singing and playing instruments in one or more of our choirs and ensembles, the successful candidate will join a team of 8 full and part time music specialists in a richly varied and supportive musical and professional environment.

You would be joining us at an incredibly exciting time in the School’s history. Rated “outstanding” by Ofsted in 2015 and celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, Central Foundation is the top performing non-selective all boys school in the country based on 2016 GCSE outcomes. In 2016, 84% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths while our Progress 8 was 0.65. Our Sixth Form is in the top 15% of all post 16 providers in the country.

The behaviour of students is outstanding and the disciplined environment allows the teachers to focus on delivering great academic outcomes.

We are very ambitious in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. We set high standards for all professionals working at the school but we also provide a very strong net of support for both new and existing colleagues.

Central Foundation is:

  • an outstanding school (Ofsted, February 2015)
  • a school that is situated in a vibrant multi-cultural environment next to the ‘silicon roundabout’ on the edge of the City of London.
  • not a typical boys’ school, over half the staff are female
  • a school with excellent transport links.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.
