Job overview

Broomwood Girls is seeking an exceptional educator, a passionate musician and a strong team player to join our school for 2 days a week. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to join the Music Department, who teach music across the Pre-Prep and our Girls Prep, occasionally contributing to some activities with our Boys Prep School, round the corner. Music plays an integral role in our curriculum and wider school opportunities, giving our children the chance to hone their skills, perform collaboratively and individually, and develop a passion for playing, performing, composing whilst developing an understanding of music theory. All children have a music lesson every week and most of our pupils from Year 1 up are members of a choir or musical ensemble. Every year group puts on a performance at least once a year, in which music is heavily involved. The person in post will not only teach music lessons but will be expected to assist with productions, ensembles, choirs and take the lead in other music related events such as our Masterclasses or Carol Concerts, to name a few.

The successful candidate will need to bring energy and enthusiasm to all that they do in order to instil a love of music in our youngest pupils, whilst being able to support our most able musicians to reach their potential. Broomwood is an inclusive school and we want every child to have their moment in the spotlight and their chance to shine. Therefore creating opportunities for children to perform at all age levels is an important aspect of our provision.

Broomwood is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Unless otherwise stated, all posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

We value and encourage diversity in our workforce and are committed to promoting equality and eliminating discrimination. As an employer, we are aware of our obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and are committed to offering support and making reasonable adjustments to allow full participation in the process.
