As a forward-looking and innovative school we are seeking to appoint a highly skilled Teacher of Music to join our friendly and enthusiastic team, for a one year temporary contract.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an NQT or experienced teacher to join our highly successful Performing Arts Department.  QTS status is essential. An ability to teach across the full age and ability range up to A Level is desirable.

Kingdown School is ranked in the top 10 secondary schools in Wiltshire situated in Warminster in the heart of beautiful rural Wiltshire with excellent links to Salisbury, Bath, Bristol and the South-West. Kingdown School is an academy under the Acorn Education Trust providing exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on the collective experience of a Trust.

The music department is housed in a purpose built Performing Arts block, (opened in 1998). The accommodation is very good and consists of a faculty office, 2 drama studios (which open up to create a large performance space) and seminar room, changing rooms and Dance studio. The music department has 2 large classrooms with integral practice rooms and both have a PC, projector and whiteboard along with 16 keyboards and a range of percussion instruments. A dedicated ICT room has PCs with Sibelius and Cubase software and there are 4 further practice rooms (one of which can be used as a recording studio.) There are also a number of visiting instrumental teachers including piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwind and drums.
